Scalloped Bowl

The outside scallops were created with a jig saw. All other shapes and piercings were done with power carving. The embellishment is fan brushing acrylic paint over black ink. Clear matt enamel final finish. The bottom engraving was by laser. 6 1/2" diameter, 2 1/2" tall.
I really like the shape, piercing and finishing. I'm going to have to google Fan brushing. Great effect.
Thanks for your comment. Fan brushing is a term I derived. It is dry brushing but with paint that is not dry. The brush is "fanned" briskly but lightly. It is much faster than dry brushing and yields a similar effect

I have tried something similar to what you are describing, and inevitably my brush is too wet and transfers too much paint. I am sure I need more practice
