Twisted Sack

This twisted turning reminded me of a paper sack with its upper rim rolled back. The 'bag's' twist might have come from holding some shape that caused the user to twist the top of the bag (a bottle maybe..). Just my thoughts. It was turned from some fairly soft and punky spalted black gum. a 3-point off-axis method was used to turn most of the bottom and the upper rim was turned on center to provide the 'rolled top' look. Pyrographic markings were used below the folded rim to enhance the twist and rim. Finish is Watco oil and wiping poly. size is 8 inches in height and 6 1/2 inches in diameter.
