Figured Twisted Maple Bowl

Figured Twisted Maple Bowl

This 7 1/2 inch diameter bowl was turned from a block of figured, spalted maple. The top section was turned on center and the bottom section was turned off-center using a 3-point multi-axis technique to generate the twisted sections. Note how the twisted bottom surfaces intersect to create draped, pointed edges on the rim of the bowl. Finish is Watco oil buffed on the Beall system.
