Soft Maple Vase 12" x 7 1/2" Carved and pierced. Black, green, and yellow base of Transtint Dye sprayed with an air brush. After I finished turning and sanding I took it off the lathe --- it developed a very slight tilt from the top of the base on up. ?????? The only thing I can think of is that I centered the log on the lathe instead of using the pith as the center. It only amounted to about 1/2", but I think it was enough to move the wood. Oh well. Live and learn. Comments welcome.
