12th Bowl. Koa Calabash

12th Bowl. Koa Calabash

This is my 12th effort and my first attempt at a Hawaiian Calabash form. The Calabash form is based on the calabash gourd that was used for bowls and vessels throughout the Pacific Islands. Hawaiians took the shape and used it as the basis for handcarved and finished bowls.

I am a new turner and eager for critique, in this case especially from folks who understand the calabash form. Thanks everyone!
