Blackened Sweet Gum - 32"

This piece developed a lot of black streaks and grey blotchy areas during the drying process. I didn't catch the mold growth on the surface soon enough and should have doused it with vinegar/water spray before putting it away to dry. Stained it with black TransTint dye then finished with shellac. There wasn't much grain pattern to start with but some does still show through in the light.
