Footed Honey Locust Box

Footed Honey Locust Box

This box is 2 5/8 inches in diameter by 2 3/4 inches high. Oil sanded and burnished bee's wax finish.
The wood came from a nearby Inn, it had been hung with lights and the slate colored staining is probably from the nails that held the lights.
The grain is straight and the sap wood and staining are pretty straight too.

Where's the finial? It would look great with a really nice finial.

you didn't say what the wood was (other than it came from an inn)???

Ed,
I thought that the title "Footed Honey Locust Box" would have been a clue to the wood (sorry, that was a cheap shot) :) ... You are the second person to suggest a finial, I think I might try that.

Well sure, now that you point it out it's obvious. Just like the stuff in the refrigerator that I can never see until my wife points it out to me. Oh well.

Ed

LOL!
OFTEN, in order to find something, I have to ask my wife to look for it...
She doesn't have to get up, just turn around and all of a sudden (oh, there it is).
